The Polish Cottage is still offering amazing customer service and delicious food! We stopped in on a weekday for lunch and enjoyed schnitzel, golabki, zurek, and kids meals. I had to include the kids meals to this review simply because it was our first time ordering for our littles in our many visits here and the plates were full! The traditional dishes were of course filling and makes me miss the dishes from my visits to Poland! I honestly cannot say which dish is my favorite because they are all so good! The customer service is always great, you never will wait long for a table and will be checked on often! If you have not tried Polish Cottage make this a stop while in Tucson!
Met here for lunch with friends. The food was very unique and tasty. Our service was excellent. Nice ambiance and would recommend.
This is such a gem!!! My husband grew up in Pennsylvania near a large polish community. He spent his childhood eating the best Polish food all the time. He was thrilled that we found this place! The pierogis are so authentic- the potato filled is our favorite flavor. The sautéed onions are a must for every bite. We loved the pork and rice stuffed cabbage- which my husband grew up calling "piggies." His grandmother would make them for him, and he loved these! I loved the polish veggie salad - which is best described as a cold potato salad with additional veggies and herbs such as carrots and fresh dill. The restaurant is quaint with the cutest wall decor. The service was so fast, and I don't think we've ever been so joyfully welcomed by the staff at any other restaurant. We can't wait to go back and try more of their food - there are so many other menu items that we can't wait to experience.
The restaurant is very cute, clean and homey! Awesome service and the food was great! Definitely worth the stop!
Having a polish mother in law and after living in Chicago for 35 years... we know good authentic polish food.. and this place has it! The potato pancakes were delicious and the polish beef stew.. wow! Service was great, fast and friendly and the restaurant is quaint with quite a bit of seating. The decor was cottage chalet cute. We even got the t-shirt! "Got pierogi?" We will definitely be back!
I think this may have been the first Polish restaurant I've been to and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. We ordered a little bit of everything. My kids had the perogie with French fries and even the fries were so good! We also discovered that my 5 year old daughter loves sauerkraut so that's a win. Service was great and the restaurant is small giving a very "homey" feeling. Definitely recommend and I'd love to come back to try more of the menu! 10/10!
Have been wanting to try this place for over a year...I love Polish food and small, family owned restaurants. NOT disappointed. Ate 3/10/24, a Sunday, around 1:30 pm. Punched into GPS so i knew where to make the turn of Broadway, because I always miss it.. Ambiance/Cleanliness-Clean...charming space with little Polish touches/advertising for authenticity. 4 stars. Service-Bella was my server. She was helpful, attentive and informative. Probably one of the best servers I have met in Tucson. 5 stars. Food-Had the Cottage Combo Plate and iced tea. Bread with herbed butter was excellent. This is a stuffed cabbage, couple made-in-Chicago kielbasa links, 4 pierogis (i got 2 beef and 2 potato cheese) with grilled onions, bacon and sour cream, and Hunters stew (sauerkraut with pork). It was all delicious and I will go back soon...4 stars
I was a bit confused as to where this restaurant was since it was evening and it was a little hard to see all the signs in the plaza. We finally spotted our dinner destination, a smallish restaurant with a semi-lighted sign that said "Po ottage." Anyways, upon entering the Po Ottage I was warmly greeted by the hostess who gave me a menu to peruse through as I picked out my to go order. We ended up getting a variety of items, including sausage, soup and some cabbage rolls. Everything was securely packaged for our trip home. It tasted so homey and comfy. I was especially appreciative that they offered one of my Polish-American friend's favorite Polish dishes, a rye-based soup called Żurek. I knew I had to get this to try out! The soup did not disappoint. It had a slightly sour flavor and I could taste the rye in it. The cabbage rolls were tender and well seasoned and the sausage was nice in that it highlighted the natural flavors inherent in the meat and spices instead of being overloaded with a ton of salt. Service was so friendly and pleasant. They made me feel right at home even though I was just getting a takeout order. Next time we are in the area I would gladly come back here again.
Ah, Tucson, land of sun, cacti, and... a secret Polish culinary kingdom? Who knew! I've been traipsing through Tucson for years, and not once did my sauerkraut-senses tingle until now. This place, my friends, is where sauerkraut dreams come true. Their sauerkraut stew could start a revolution, and the pierogies? Let's just say they're the doughy envelopes of joy. And the sausages - oh, the sausages! They're like a hearty handshake from an old Polish grandfather. Now, let's talk turkey--or rather, potatoes and bread. The mashed potatoes are so creamy, they could be used in diplomacy, and the bread and butter? I'm pretty sure it's what they serve in carbohydrate heaven. Prices? You won't need to break your piggy bank - it's all between 10 to 20 bucks. The pricier plates could feed a small army or at least a very hungry couple. Tucson's like a treasure chest of great restaurants, but finding this gem? It's like striking culinary gold. If you're after a change from your usual taco Tuesday, this Polish eatery is a taste bud adventure. It's a must-visit for those who talk food better than they talk politics. Order a smorgasbord to share, or be a culinary rebel and hog a big plate to yourself. Drinks, though? Well, they're okay, but with competitive watering holes next door, it's like being in a cola cold war. My advice to them: maybe drop a buck or two on the drink prices. Keep the customers' wallets and taste buds equally happy. That's my two cents, minus a star for the drink dilemma, in this otherwise rave review of Tucson's hidden Polish paradise!
